Dinghua WANG
Prof. Wang Dinghua, born in Henan Province, is a professor, doctoral supervisor at the Graduate School of Education, Beijing Foreign Studies University.
In 1980, he entered the School Education program in the Education Department of Henan University, earning a bachelor's degree. In 1984, he entered the Comparative Education program in the Education Department of Hebei University, earning a master's degree. Starting in 1986, he taught in the Education Department of Henan University and served as deputy director of the teaching and research office and graduate student advisor. During this period, in 1988, he visited and taught at Portland State University in the United States. In 1991, he entered the Foreign Education History program in the Education Department of Hebei University, earning a doctoral degree.
In 1994, he joined the Basic Education Department of the State Education Commission, successively serving as deputy director of the Compulsory Education Division and deputy director of the HighSchool Education Division. In 2000, he served as Education Consul at the Chinese Consulate General in New York. In 2003, he became director of the Office of the Basic Education Department of the Ministry of Education. In 2006, he served as director of theComprehensive Division, in 2007 as deputy inspector of the Basic Education Department, and in 2008 as deputy director of the Basic Education Department I and UNESCO Education for All Coordinator.
In 2012, he became director of the Basic Education Department of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, he became Director of the Teacher Work Department of the Ministry of Education. Since 2018, he has been working at Beijing Foreign Studies University.
He has long participated in national education policy formulation, tirelessly promoted educational reform and development, strongly advocated for school quality improvement, and consistently maintained theoretical and practical research. His main research areas include contemporary basic education, teacher professional development,Sino-American comparative education, and world-class university construction.
Prof. Wang’s research focuses are comparative education, global education governance, teacher education, etc. He has published significant works, including Global Education Governance Strategy, the American Basic Education: Observation and Research, the American Higher Education: Observation and Research, the American Teacher Education: Observation and Research, the Chinese Basic Education: Observation and Research, the Chinese Higher Education: Observation and Research, the Chinese Teacher Education: Observation and Research, the “The Belt and Road” Cultural Education Series, and over 160 academic papers.
