YUNYUN QIN earned a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Comparative Education from Beijing Normal University, as well as a PhD from the University of Hong Kong. She also undertook short-term visiting studies at the University of Oxford in 2018.
Her primary research areas include: international and comparative education, cross-border and transnational education, Sino-foreign cooperative education, sociology of education, and qualitative research methods.
To date, she has published one English-language academic monograph entitled Building Cross-border Joint-Universities in China: A Study of Organizational Dilemma, published by Routledge in 2021, as well as multiple journal articles in domestic and international publications, including the Tsinghua Journal of Education (Chinese), the Fudan Education Forum (Chinese), the British Educational Research Journal and the Journal of Studies in International Education. She has participated in several national and provincial-level research projects.
Her undergraduate teaching includes the course In and Beyond the Camera: Education in the Films and Documentaries. For postgraduate students, she teaches courses such as Introduction to Educational Studies, Comparative Education Research: Theories and Methods, and Qualitative Research Methods.
She has recently served as a reviewer for several international academic journals, including Compare, Higher Education, and the Journal of Studies in International Education.
